As the news broke about Bernie Madoff the incomprehensible sum of $50 billion had no image to show what such a stupendous collapse looked like.  Stories of its impact began to convey the impact but its sum could not be grasped or even felt - except by those left falling into a bottomless pit where once there had been absolute security. It was an earthquake of utter devastation for some, a warning for others and validation of the evils of greed for the untouched righteous. Could the seeds of such a disaster been seen in the horoscope of this greatest of fraudsters?

We would expect the planet representing money to be sharply compromised and the planet representing magnitude to be negatively involved. Further as reports of Madoff’s reputation and trustworthiness came to light more expectations of the design of his horoscope emerge. It also points to a great chasm of financial darkness that sat squarely at the heart of his astrological profile.

Historians have long known that Jesus Christ must have been born between 1 and 4 BC. Recently, an Australian astronomer, Dave Reneke, has taken the Bible story of the birth of Jesus and used it to identify an astronomical phenomena that matches the description of the bright, slow-moving star that coincided with this birth.

Dave Reneke’s research points to 17 June 2 BC as being the most likely date, as the planets Venus and Jupiter were in the same location in the night sky and produced the effect of an unusually bright, slow-moving star.

While this is a plausible scientific explanation for the timing of the birth of Jesus, is it also a plausible astrological explanation?

Such a horoscope would have to account for the ability of Jesus to speak on spiritual matters, exhibit healing abilities, indicate a strong capacity for compassion, and show that his spiritual message could reach the masses. It should also show the potential for harm that could come to him.

The Language of Astrology

The signs and symbols of Astrology represent a language. As an example of this language let us take the planet Mars . In astrological parlance Mars represents initiative, impulsiveness, the physical body, guns and decision-making (among other things). Consequently a discussion about guns is less likely to have relevance for an executive as opposed to a soldier. However decision-making would be important to both.

Combining the Terms

Jupiter represents success and positivity, whereas Saturn represents toughness and harshness. Which planet, in strong combination with Mars, augments the likely success of the executive; and which, the likely success of the soldier?
